Cher in Vogue (November 1969)
There are a few people as striking as Cher. I wanted to share this stunning black and white editorial from Vogue’s November 1969 issue. By this point, Cher was a regular in the magazine. She had a unique style and dramatic features that made her a photographer’s dream — in this case, Avedon’s dream. When I look at Cher images from this era, it’s obvious how much Kim Kardashian West borrows from her look, from hair and makeup to sexy yet minimalist styling. A friend of mine joked that Kanye’s archives run deep. He must have binders of style inspo.
Funny though that this editorial was supposed to showcase affordable “look for less” fashion, but if you add inflation into the equation, the prices are crazy high. Oh, Vogue truly never changes.
