Glitter Gaze
Christian Dior F/W 2014
Being over 30, I wasn’t super thrilled about seeing so much metallic eye on the runways, thinking about the sparkly stuff getting stuck in all the wrong creases (um, wrinkles!). But, I think I just had bad memories of cheap ’90s glitter makeup. Having tried several sparkly shadows, I’m convinced Stila’s Magnificent Metals Foil Finish collection is the bee’s knees. The four new fall shades are just perfect for re-creating the Dior runway look.
Before attempting anything with glitter particles, prepping the lid is a must, and Stila’s shadows already come with the mini Stay All Day Liquid Eye Primer. The cream shadow formula glides like butter, and prevents any fallouts one would get with a powder version. Whenever I’m applying something fairly heavy, I prefer to use my fingers, so I can really control how much goes on the lid. (I also don’t want to spend an hour getting glitter off my favourite brush.) Stila, of course, thought of that by introducing the brilliant double-sided silicone liner brush, one you can also use with their Magnificent Metals Liners.
Stila’s Stila’s Global Executive Director of Creative Artistry, Sarah Lucero, offers a valuable tip: “If you keep the shimmer closer to the lash line, and let it fade up to the crease, it will enhance and make your eyes look bigger.”
Will you try?
