November is approaching, which means it’s time for another hyped H&M collaboration. You probably know by now that the designer is Isabel Marant, the French queen of American boho chic. I’ve always appreciated how Marant swooped in with everything quintessentially Americana (cowboy boots, Navajo prints, denim overload, sweatpants!), and made it synonymous with French girl style. Aside from the shoes (and yes, I own two pairs of ‘Dicker’ boots), intricately embroidered or leather pieces, I never understood her extremely high prices, even when it comes to her diffusion line, Isabel Marant Étoile. Usually we look to brands like Wilfred (Aritzia), Zara, and Topshop to fill our Marant void, and I think she knows that — I suppose she threw us a bone?

Yeah, the collection looks great and very Isabel Marant. In fact, quite a few pieces are sort of cheaper carbon copies of her Fall/Winter 2013 ready-to-wear collection, but we expect that — it’s cool. Personally, I’ve always had my eye on one of her little embroidered jackets, a sort of a Rock ‘n’ Roll (I’m only using this term because the French love to use it) version of the little Chanel jacket, and they usually retail for well over $1,000.

The party image from last night’s launch is Paris is all kinds of heavenly, and explains why so many girls long to be Marant girls. Pick me! So, November 14th — who’s ready?
