A few years ago, I thought of Camper shoes as clunky things that fell somewhere between little kid and granny style. But roughly three years ago while in Barcelona, I bought a pair of wedges that were neither of those things. Their design was very simple, very streamlined and they are, by far, the most comfortable sandals I own.
The wedge in question is Laura, a style Camper carries season through season. Mine are a little bit different and they have a crisscross strap. But it’s the wedge that’s truly special, with its minimal light wood form that turns — pretty seamlessly — into a rubber sole. And, unlike other wedges, these are safe to drive in — bonus!
