Beauty Fridays: Looped Pony-Bun
Carolina Herrera S/S 2012
This little looped pony-bun from Carolina Herrera is definitely my favourite hairstyle for spring. Mostly because it’s a very sleek and sophisticated version of the hairdo I accidentally sport every single day — the lazy pony-bun one makes when both a ponytail and a bun seem like way too much work.
It’s the brainchild of Orlando Pita, who is a big fan of interesting pony/bun hybrids — like, remember the pinned one from Vera Wang F/W 2011?
Before blowdrying, Pitta prepped the hair with Moroccanoil Light Oil Treatment (it’s better for blonds and fine hair) and parted hair down the centre. To achieve ultimate smoothness, he used Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream before gathering hair into a ponytail, backcombing it for a little volume, and then looping it around and tucking it underneath the elastic.
You can certainly swap Moroccanoil with any rich styling cream to achieve the look. So easy and simple, I’ll be sporting it for years to come. I’m all for lazy, yet refined chic. You?
