Holiday season is the one time you can get away with disco nails, so you better take advantage! And if you do it, do it right! Go with the glitter overload. I’ve selected (and personally tried) six of the most irresistable glittery polishes in holiday-approved shades.
“Today Was a Fairytale” ($22 CAD), “Boom Boom Pow” ($22 CAD); “Bad Romance” ($20 CAD), all at Holt Renfrew
It’s no surprise that three of them come from Deborah Lippmann, my newest beauty obsession. Ms. Lippmann is every girlie girl’s (and probably every drag queen’s) dream manicurist and her holiday collection is all razzle-dazzle. These are just a small selection of her glitter extravangaza: “Today Was a Fairytale,” a starry blue that actually contains virgin diamond powder; “Boom Boom Pow,” a very golden gold with 24K gold dust and; “Bad Romance,” a vampy blackened fuschia inspired by Lady Gaga herself.

“London Rosie Lee” ($17 CAD at BeautyMark and Holt Renfrew)

Of course, no nail polish post would be complete without some Butter! “London Rosie Lee” is a gorgeous pinky coppery shade, a bit on the softer side than the rest.

“Flurry Up” and “212” ($12 CAD at Sephora)
If you’re more into sparkly neutrals, Sephora by OPI has an amazing silver top coat (it can be used on its own), “Flurry Up” and golden brown/black, “212”. And at a much more agreeable price.
