Holt Renfrew Fall 2009 Fashion Preview
This week I attended Holt Renfrew‘s Fall Media Preview hosted by Barbara Atkin, Vice President of Fashion Direction at Holt Renfrew. I truly love Atkin’s amazing sense of style and admire her passion for discovering fresh and young designers to introduce to the Canadian consumer. I would like to use this opportunity to combine Holt Renfrew’s picks as well as my picks for the exciting Fall 2009 season.
“Seasonless is on the rise. Shop for fewer things but better things.” – Barbara Atkin
Holt Renfrew has broken up the upcoming fall season into four distinct looks:
1. TRANS-SIBEREAN EXPRESS
A journey through Russia, Mongolia and China featuring ornate, dramatic, and romantic pieces. Fur is back big time this season (but for those more animal rights conscious, many of these looks can be achieved with faux fur as well). Look for pieces by Etro and Marni.

2. THE GREAT OUTDOORS
A more sophisticated look back to the grunge era lead yet again by Marc Jacobs. Look for chunky knits, oversized jackets, big boots and toques!

3. STREAMLINED
This look is all about reductionism. Look of for sleek and modern silhouettes by Jil Sander, Prada and Alexander McQueen.
