APRIL_ITLIST

I didn’t mean to take a week-long hiatus, but things got really busy over on the freelance front. Plus, Spring comes with a pretty busy social schedule, which is why I’m dedicating my April It List to the art of sleep. And the older I get, the more I realize that it is an art. It all comes down to quality versus quantity (although I still swear by at least seven hours of uninterrupted sleep).

First thing, chill mind. Sounds impossible, especially when surrounded by several beeping electronic devices requiring your attention. ADD brain like mine definitely benefits from Headspace, a brilliant meditation app designed by a former Buddhist Monk. (It does have a similar effect to Muse, which I wrote about a few months back.) I love this app, although its full potential would probably be better reached if I would make time for it daily. For ultimate relaxation, I always count on essential oils, and Saje’s Roman Chamomile is just what the brain needs — particularly when combined with their AromaOm Nebulizer. I finally got my hands on the coveted Sleep Shirt and I must report that due to its fluffy Japanese cotton, I’ve never slept more comfortably. Early sunrise? Bona Notti makes the most luxurious silk sleep masks that won’t let a single too-early beam in. As for skin, Fresh’s Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask will have you awaken to a plump and lively completion you know you deserve. All you have to do is sleep.
