I first tried Garnier’s BB Cream upon its release last year but, while I loved the formula, neither of the two available shades matched my skin tone. (As you know, I’m very pale.)

This year, Garnier introduced a Light shade that’s about as milky (I also could have written “vampire-ish”) as my complexion. The formula remains the same, although Garnier did introduce an oil-free formula as well. Key ingredients include Hyaluronic Acid (a strong hydrator) and Vitamin C (a powerful antioxidant) that help reduce the appearance of dark spots over time. A surprising component in the formula is caffeine, which is proven to stimulate circulation beneath the skin surface.

The scope of BB Creams runs the gamut: from thick, full-coverage foundation-like creams to the light, tinted moisturizer variety. Garnier’s Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector is definitely the latter – very sheer and airy, evening out skin tone for a natural look. Its mineral pigments blend into the skin flawlessly.

I can skip the moisturizer altogether and reach straight for the BB Cream after I cleanse my face. I find that that it provides plenty of moisture to get me through the day and it covers just enough, leaving my precious freckles intact, yet smoothing out redness and discolouration. Overall, a perfect product.
