FASHION (May 2011)
Oh my, it’s been so long since I blogged about nail polish — almost two months! Summer is the time when nail polishes truly shine. Last summer it was all about corals and lilacs, but this season it’s all about bright oranges and yellows. At first, yellow can feel pretty daunting, but once it’s on, it’s like having tiny little sunshines on your hands. With help from my intern Shakeira, we’ve selected four sunniest and happiest shades!
Chanel ‘Mimosa’ ($24 at Holt Renfrew and The Bay)
Chanel, of course, is always the one to start a polish trend and ‘Mimosa’ has been used in every single beauty editorial like Vogue Italia (April 2011) and FASHION Magazine.

Deborah Lippmann ‘Yellow Brick Road’ ($22 at Holt Renfrew)
‘Yellow Brick Road’ is the polish Lady Gaga wore during the Grammys performance when she was all dressed up in yellow — you know after she arrived in a giant alien egg! In fact, Deborah Lippmann created it just for her (this may be my new aspiration in life).

Butter ‘Cheeky Chops’ ($17 at Beautymark)
One can always count on Butter for super fun shades with super fun names and ‘Cheeky Chops’ does not disappoint in the fun department.
Sally Hansen ‘Lightening’ ($5.95 at Shoppers Drug Mart)

Don’t feel like investing in yellow? Try a cheap n’ cheerful option by Sally Hansen.

Convinced yet? Gonna try it?
