Missoni F/W 2010

I’m not one to bare my midriff, not because I’m self-conscious about it but because I’m just plain too old (beach only now). The cropped top doesn’t work for me in the summer, but in the winter one can layer things so it’s a completely different story. This season, cropped sweaters are on style.com’s must-have list, and I must say that I agree.

Thankfully, none of them are those awful 80s sweatshirts American Apparel tried (unsuccessfully) to bring back. Almost all cropped sweaters this season feature intricate patterns, softness and ease like Missoni and Proenza Schouler. Givenchy offers a body-conscious version that would make one sexy Christmas party piece and Phillip Lim’s basic grey is bound to stick around in one’s closet for years.
