the lovely designer

For me it’s the year of
Ágatha Ruíz de la Prada. I am embarrassed to admit that until my recent trip to Spain I’ve never heard of her and unfortunately she is not a household name in North America. Ágatha is a bona fide fashion and cultural icon in her native Spain. Her runways are some of the most-anticipated during the Milan fashion week so it is no wonder that Sacha Baron Cohen chose to crash it for his movie Bruno.

flagship store, Madrid

Ágatha Ruíz de la Prada flagship store in Madrid is, safe to say, the cutest store I’ve ever seen. Pink walls, cut-out hearts, ruffles; it was like walking into cotton candy! If you are a shy one – this is not a store for you. If you don’t have a sense of humour when it comes to fashion – this is not a store for you. Only for the brave… Did I buy something? Off course! Bright red cardigan with orange heart buttons. I you too Ágatha!
